The ÜberBots attended the Where's Wolcott Invitational at Tyrrell Middle School in Wolcott, Connecticut. This post-season scrimmage involved 12 teams, and was played in a 2v2 format. Coming into the contest, the ÜberBots had high hopes and expectations. But by lunchtime, such dreams seemed to be rapidly disappearing. A confluence of events had left the team with a 1-3 record as they walked to the cafeteria, and the ÜberBots found themselves in dire straits.
Then came one of the greatest comebacks in the ÜberBots' history. Rallied by some mysterious force after lunch (perhaps just their full stomachs), the team first won the fastest lap and most hurdles competitions, and then went a perfect 5-0 in the second half of the qualification matches. In addition, they won both the Friendliest Team and Best Robot Design Awards. They then went on to be picked by Team 195, the CyberKnights, becoming the 2nd seeded alliance going into the playoffs. There, they skipped the Quarterfinals and swept the Semis before losing in the Finals to Teams 181 and 230. All in all, it was an exciting and educational experience, and congratulations on a job well done to all who attended.
