How does Birdies for Charity work?
Team members ask friends and family members to pledge a small amount of money for each birdie recorded at the 2011 Travelers Championship this June. If there are 1,500 birdies made and the pledge is 1 cent a birdie, $15 is donated to your team. It is common that 1,500-2,000 birdies are made during the Championship. Just as high school athletic teams sell various items to raise funds for their teams, FIRST team members can go door to door in their neighborhoods or pledges can easily be raised through electronic communications. FIRST team members can be creative by approaching local restaurants/stores for pledges, and by asking their parents' companies and others to support their FIRST team through the Birdies for Charity fundraiser.
Pledges can be as low as one penny!
100% OF THE PROCEEDS TEAMS RAISE
WILL GO TO SUPPORTING THEIR INDIVIDUAL TEAM.
